WRAPPING UP A "HARD CORE POETRY"

The good, old “IN DEFENSE OF THE REAL CFC” blog HAS BEEN BACK SINCE SEPTEMBER, 2009!!!.  Its second post on September 28 calls for assistance to the victims of typhoon "Undoy".

In that blogspot are archived documents, comments and observations about the CFC split (by Frank Padilla) from August 2007 to July 2008. I was so surprised but delighted to chance upon "our" blog's REOPENING while looking for a post there about  “HARD CORE POETRY” that was commented on by Sis Marivie (Dalman I suppose) during the CFC Disciples Weekend in Baguio last January, 2008.

That song renders opposing points of view as "hard-core poetry".  I propose its lilting verses as the "SWAN SONG" of this blog.

Here it goes:

(Tavares)

It depends on who is looking at the tenement walls
Whether he's coming home or passing through
You can walk the streets and find so much to criticize
But that would be the easy thing to do
'Coz there's beauty in the concrete
If you see it with your heart
The sidewalks only hurt you
If you hate them from the start
THIS IS A SONG NOT NECESSARILY SWEET
I'LL PASS IT ON TO FOLKS THAT I NEVER WILL MEET
AND IF MY WORDS DON'T MAKE HISTORY
JUST CALL IT HARDCORE POETRY
You can blame the world if troubles come
And knock at your door
Let your weakness cut you down to size
If you find some fault with everything surrounding you
Maybe it's your narrow-minded eyes
'Coz there's music in the city
If your ear is to the ground
Only nonbelievers never hear a single sound
THIS IS A SONG NOT NECESSARILY SWEET
I'LL PASS IT ON TO FOLKS THAT I NEVER WILL MEET
AND IF MY WORDS DON'T MAKE HISTORY
JUST CALL IT HARDCORE POETRY

Indeed, the contents of this blog were not necessarily sweet and were passed on to CFC brothers and sisters, including those who may never personally meet each other again. Now, if all of our collective thoughts and comments shared here won’t "make history", let me propose that they were 'testaments' to the compulsive power of the human word EMANATING FROM RESTLESS AND CONFUSED HEARTS.

For which reason, and amidst our conflicting views, may I propose that we ask of the venerable St. Augustine, Patron Saint of the Achdiocese of our Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental, his fervent Intercession.  Let us us ask him to pray that we REUNITE IN LOVE under our VATICAN-APPROVED COUPLES FOR CHRIST COMMUNITY.

"In Augustinian spirituality love for God is experienced as love for one another. Where love for another person is present God is present too. 'Honour God in each other'.  We come to God through love of one another, since love for a human being is much more concrete than love for God. In the teaching of Augustine human love has divine love running within it.

"Augustine models for us prayer of the heart, longing to know and to see God. In prayer we progress to God who is human happiness itself. 'You have made us and directed us toward yourself and our heart is restless until we rest in you.' Conf 1.1"

PRAISE GOD FOREVERMORE!

OK!
No hard feelings. We move on. On Friday evening, during the 2nd MCG Teaching Night (under the new Area Council) at Msgr. Patrick Cronin Hall - Cathedral Area, dala ko some bread to share with brethren from far-flung areas. I like this new practice of serving free coffee/chocolate and biscuits before the start of the Worship, and still allowing brothers and sisters to sip hot coffee while listening to the Teachings. More so nga the venue is cool - air-conditioned. I shall increase my tithe to help cover these expenses. Thank you Brother Jun Waga and the New Area Council for making the Teaching Night filling for our bodies and souls, mas bibo and an occasion to look forward to. GOD BLESS.

Kung gusto ka ug nation-building, pagdagan sugod ug Barangay Captain, pero individually, CFC ka pa gihapon; or else, magbayad kaha ka ug ensakto sa imong buhis para sa gobiyerno sa katawhan...Kung mamolitica ka na man lang as a means to nation-building, ayaw lang pud i-bagnos-bagnos ang imong CFC Covenant nga morag campaign material kay magabaan ka. Bitaw uy, morag vain man ang hisgutan ang sacred covenant in relation to the profane objective of nation-building. Kana lang. God Bless.

Sa akong panan-aw (In my view):

Ang "SPECIALTY" morag mahitungod sa pagkaon bitaw, or kanang "gakaunon" or kaha "gatunlon", kanang moagi sa tilauk o esophagus - such as words and laway, kan-on (rice), sud-an, bread, mga matamis, etc. Busa naay mga "specialty" snacks, cakes, pastries, rice, fish-meat-chicken-pork preparations, etc.

On the other hand:

Ang "SPECIALIZATION" morag bahin sa kahibalo or kaalam, or else skills kaha sama sa pag-alot, manicure, pedicure, finance mgt., sales, medicine, engineering, law practice, fertilizer mkgt., school mgt., mgt. of NPOs, dentistry, politics, guerilla warfare, nuclear physics, etc.

LET US SING

MANY GIFTS, ONE SPIRIT
(Music and lyrics by Allen Pote)

Many gifts, one spirit, many songs, one voice
Many reasons, one promise, many questions, one choice.
O, God, we pray for unity, give guidance from above.
In our differences unite us in the circle of your love.
O, God, remind us we are not alone.
Though we move on different pathways,
we are walking to your throne.

Help us learn to love each other, show us ways to understand.
We are members of one family, growing strong by joining hands.
O, God, remind us we are not alone.
Though we move on different pathways,
we are walking to your throne.
Take our many ways of working, blend the colors of each soul
into the beauty of a rainbow.
Give us life, Lord, make us whole.

Padre Arvin:

I thought that one doesn’t kill (or “stone to death”) the messenger, even if he delivers a dreadful or confusing missive. I wonder if the living daylights stay with you if, like a broken record, those who chose to stay with the CFC-IC reiterate that the Vatican-approved CFC-IC was abandoned by the followers of the group of Jun del Fierro pursuant to their letter of July 30, 2009 – signed July 31, 2009 at Steve’s Barbecue Grill - and their formal declaration of independence/b on August 2, 2009 (celebrated with two lechons… that were half-eaten because, among the other negative words spoken, Mr. del Fierro badmouthed the Manila-based CFC-IC leaders for being interested only in the Jubilee Mission Fund that CFC in Misamis Oriental has remitted regularly, while the same leaders are hosted graciously with good food and accommodation when in Cagayan de Oro City.)

Just curious, though… You are concerned that I am “making confusion” if I don’t “show” myself to you (and perhaps to the others who think like you). But will that matter at all, since you are already confused anyway, or shall we say, what incremental “value” in confusion will my not “showing” to you really have? Oh, and must I beg the issue, here, Sir? “What a pity! Your slip shows, Pader!” You are not interested really in knowing who I am, nor about our differences of opinions relative to those who discarded CFC as its card-carrying members. No. You are bent on throwing that murderous stone! (So, may I say, liar ka, Derps Arvin?)

…and heretically invoking faith in God, at that!

Arvin, whatever priest or “father” you may be, please be reminded that stones were the main weapons (also kitchen tools) of prehistoric savages, by threat of which use, a thousand nice cuts by the sharpest modern-day knife should not readily lead to your “untoward” death… Do, study some more (about our CFC … we are couples and you are not. For a priest, you are ‘TALENTADO’ – utter it with a Chinese twang, ha? You will this is a good study for a start…).

The structure of CFC makes for obedience, pastoral headship and servant leadership a lifelong calling and responsibility. It has very clear lines of authority and responsibility which are usually reinforced with teachings and orientations during regular leadership and similar conferences, basic activities which the del Fierro group dismissed as lousy. We would not have any problem if our leaders were faithful to our structure and obedient to our teachings, in fact obedient to God as they vowed in their CFC covenant, values which I am sure you also treasure in the episcopate.

The truth Padre Arvin is that our top leaders, respected by the general public as devout CFC followers, left our mainstream CFC with bad taste and undue haste, with insults and even lies – saying we, the ordinary members were one with them in severing ties from the CFC-IC. OF COURSE, we know there are many ways to serve God, but to declare that they are faithful CFC servants of GOD by their unfriendly act of leaving us to fend for ourselves and lying about the whole thing is not acceptable at all, but should be hated, rejected and spurned by those soldiering on faithfully for God! I hope that by making a sweeping generalization about the acceptability of breaking CFC into FFL or GK, without considering the circumstances behind or confronting the real issues, you are not yourself an instrument of the dark forces, Padre Arvin.

Finally I thought this was to be the last post we shall have, having sort of mutually understood that we would just bless each other despite all that happened. Since you are again involking the “elusive truth” why don’t you later check on the sequel to this blog that shows evidence to the CFC-IC’s side of the truth. They will set FREE you, Father, and those similarly situated. GOD BLESS YOU.
